Why Good Churches Still Produce Spiritually Stalled Christians

The Zoé Life

For everyone · Chapter 8

Where Am I in the Cycle?

God forms His people through a pattern that repeats across Scripture. Read the six stages, mark the one that sounds most like your life right now, and use the evening question for a week.

Spiritual maturity is not random. God forms His people through a recognizable process.

Chapter 8

The six stages

Mark the one that fits today

  1. 1. Revelation

God is showing me something about Himself, myself or my next step.

  2. 2. Response

I am deciding whether to obey what He has shown me.

  3. 3. Testing

What I have obeyed is being tried by delay, difficulty or cost.

  4. 4. Formation

Character is quietly being shaped in me through what I am walking through.

  5. 5. Commission

God is entrusting me with more: people, responsibility or a new assignment.

  6. 6. New Revelation

He is beginning to show me something deeper than before.

Then the cycle begins again at a deeper level.

Reflect

Where I am

What has God been showing me recently?

How am I responding, or resisting?

If I am in testing, what might He be forming in me?

Each evening

What has God been showing me, and how am I responding?
